Trapped

Driving down a dark mountain road; I had the windows of my Dodge Ram rolled down, letting in the crisp summer breeze. My long auburn hair was tickling the back of my neck.

Classical music whispered out of the speakers. With the peaceful sound of the river and the soothing lullaby of crickets was almost too calming. Then that sound of seemingly untouched wilderness was replaced by squealing tires and crunching metal.

It ended as quickly as it started. All I remember is a blinding light, and then a tree was sticking out of the hood. Then the world went dark. When I came to I saw that I was no longer in the truck. Instead I lay sprawled on the ground in the middle of a clearing.

I sat and glanced over myself. There was not a scratch on me. Even my yellow sundress was still as wrinkle free as it was when I left my friend’s wedding. However, my body screamed a different story.

I stood and looked around. The road and my truck was nowhere to be seen. All that was familiar was the sound of the river, so I started climbing.

Where Are You?

Where are you when the tears fall down my face?
You are right beside me, wiping them away.
Where are you when I wish for days to be erased?
You are there reminding me of better days.
Where are you when I am scared and alone?
You are there beside me standing strong.
When darkness falls upon me where are you?
You are there holding my hand and guiding me through.

You are there beside me and holding on.
You feel my pain and keep me going strong.
You keep me calm when I just want to scream.
You are my guardian angel whom will never part.
You've been there beside me from the start.

Heavens Stars

Gazing into the heavens
With a glinter in her eyes,
She wishes to see heaven
And the stars in those skis.
She prays for the day
When heaven will be hers,
Hoping it will look the same
As it does here on earth.

Darkness Above

Darkness breaks through
The calm morning light,
And it brings with it hatred, pain
And never ending chaos.
It seeps through the air like a fungus.
Hope is lost and faith destroyed.
What will the darkness bring next?
Only God knows.

Crashing Waves

Sitting lonesome among the crashing waves below was a man contemplating the idea of jumping into those waves. He thinks of those that gave so much, yet the pain from those that just didn't care seemed to out weigh everything.

He couldn't go on. He didn't seem to see a reason to go on. No matter how many people he loves who loves him back, he still had this feeling of dread. He wondered how many people who saw him actually saw him. How many knew his secrets? How many knew his passion, his desire? How many cared to know him at all?

He must end it. He must throw himself at the mercy of God. He must end the pain once and for all.

"Enough," he cries out as he takes his final breathe before plunging to the waves.
